Designer Mitchel Primrose was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up the younger of two children, his passion was evident from the beginning. Mitchel was surrounded by fashionably conscious southern women in his life; his grandmother, mother, and sister all paid great attention to their wardrobe. It was his mother who first taught Mitchel how to sew. In school, Mitchel honed his creative skills by studying art, graphic design, and advanced sewing. Not only did Mitchel excel creatively but he displayed a savvy business sense as well, for which he credits his father for influencing.   

Early on Mitchel was deeply inspired by fashion legend, Gianni Versace. Along with Richard Avedon and the ‘Supermodel Era’ of the 90’s, just to name a few. He actually credits seeing his first Versace show as the catalyst for choosing a career in fashion design. It was then that Mitchel’s passion and adventurous spirit (and a plane ticket) moved him to California, without ever visiting before. He studied fashion design and is an alumni of The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

After years of working in the industry, Mitchel began to feel the need for a brand all his own. A line he could cultivate into something worth believing in; he wanted to put the emphasis on originality and honest quality. Integrating this with the vegetarian lifestyle he lives, it was also important to Mitchel that every piece be 100% cruelty free. And so, the Mitchel Primrose Collection was born. This is a brand that offers fashion forward, original designs which are entirely hand-made and quality crafted.
